Negli anni ’50 a causa di un’esplosione nucleare la popolazione e il territorio subirono una grave contaminazione radioattiva. Ancora oggi, gli abitanti attorno al fiume Techa, abbandonati a se stessi, subiscono le cause dell’accaduto.
Riceve il regista polacco Bartek Swiderski, la Genziana D’Oro del Club Alpino Italiano per il miglior film d’alpinismo. Swiderski ritenuto “inusuale” dalla giuria del Festival, ha portato, con il suo film Sati, il ricordo dell’alpinista polacco Piotr Morawski salitore di sei Ottomila, morto in Himalaya nel 2009.
